It's our favorite blog post of the year! Lots of behind the scenes from 2016 photographing over 100 families and weddings throughout NJ, NYC and PA. The good, the bad, the ugly and the funny!
To start it off, here is an amazing video that completely encompasses everything we do, shot by the amazing Steve DiMaggio at Color Room Films. <3
If we happen to match our clients again this year, you can bet we will try to sneak in a photo to see if you notice ;)
Fixing veils, dresses and boutonnieres, holding umbrellas and even hugging the kids...it's all part of the job :)
I promise you, no child was harmed in the making of the following photos.
Testing our reception lighting isn't any fun at all.
Oh those tiny babies <3 Rocking them to sleep and perfecting each pose, each swaddle and each finger. Or testing our location while pretending to hold a baby, whatever works.
That time I noticed I was in Jacqui's shot and tried to hide behind the best man. My lens was too big.
Did I hit them with the power of the Holy Spirit or ask for high fives? You decide.
Getting kids to smile in all these beautiful photos isn't as easy as it looks! Whatever we do, it works for the adults, too, haha!
Candidly playing with your hair while graciously laughing just the right amount is NOT easy. And clearly awkward for me knowing I was in front of the camera.
We don't always use this much equipment, but when we do, we wish we had an assistant.
We put ourselves in the weirdest positions to get the shot. Even if that means suspending from a window like Spiderman or folding in half.
Sleeping on the job? I think not.
Crouching tiger hidden photographer?
If it looks like we're having fun, well, we are.
Ok, back to business for a minute?
My camera holster. I don't know what's wrong with me.
We also take pictures of our clients. Lots of them :)
We've also got to work alongside some pretty amazing people along the way :) Shout out to our assistants and third shooters, and to the videographers, planners and DJ's that make our job so much easier. <3 Here are behind the scenes of a few of these amazing people!
Assistant and third shooters: Omar and Elaina
