It was such a nice day out. I was basically stuck inside most of the day doing office work, no shower, hair a mess, with makeup from yesterday melting down my face. I normally wouldn't leave the house like that, ever, but I said "you know what? I'm taking my camera and we're going to the lake". The light was absolutely gorgeous and Josie had a BLAST just running back and forth kicking and splashing, and finding all the mommy, daddy and baby rocks (depending on their size of course). I'm so glad I didn't care about my appearance for once, it was all about her and I loved watching her play! She is only going to be this little for so long, don't let the little things get in the way of life, right?! I typically shoot with longer lenses when I'm doing portraits, but I knew I wanted a more candid style for this so I stuck with using only my Sigma 35 1.4 Art. I love the result! It made me think out of the box a little, not having my 70-200 2.8 to fall back on. I think my favorite photo is the full body towards the end with her arms out. She's actually howling "like a wolf" which she apparently loves to do all the time now, so every time I see that photo it will remind me of her quirky personality!
