Evangelos and Kristen's elegant greek wedding was so beautiful from start to finish! We started off getting ready at the Wilshire Grand Hotel in West Orange, NJ where the Bride and Groom exchanged gifts. We then went to a gorgeous greek orthodox church, St. Nicholas, Constantine and Helen also in West Orange, and ended our day at Nanina's in the Park. Such an amazing venue!
Getting Ready at Wilshire Grand Hotel in West Orange, NJ
We arrived at the hotel and saw Kristen had TWO gorgeous wedding gowns! We photographed some finishing touches on her makeup, all the classy details, and a fun shot of the girls in their robes before Kristen opened Evangelos' gifts which she teared up for! Angelo looked pretty sharp as he got ready, and Kristen got him a gift he couldn't stop drooling over! Pretty much ever guy in the room was talking Kristen up for what a good job she did!
Greek Orthodox Wedding Ceremony at St. Nicholas, Constantine and Helen in West Orange, NJ
Evangelos might have cried jussssst a little as he saw his bride walk down the aisle! Not only was this church beautiful, but the ceremony itself is something you will have to witness at least once in your lifetime. Everything is done with a purpose, even joining of the hands which are later separated by the Bible, reminding them that only God can separate them from one another. You'll also notice the bride and groom are wearing crowns joined by a ribbon, signifying they are the King and Queen of their home, which they will rule with wisdom, justice and integrity. The connecting ribbon symbolizes the unity of the couple.
Portraits at Nanina's in the Park
This was our first time photographing a wedding at Nanina's in the Park and it is just a gorgeous venue! Such beautiful gardens to use for photos including a bridge and waterfalls. Kristen wanted to make sure we got the Rolls Royce in a photo, too!
This wedding reception was insane! So much fun just watching people dance, and of course there was some traditional greek dancing as well! Lots of pretty details and a choreographed first dance (which might I add, they did a GREAT job with that!). They also had a slideshow playing for each of them with photos through the years, it was very cute! We stepped outside for a sparkler photo, came back in for some cake cutting and venetian hour, then back out for an epic night shot. Loved this reception!
