What a fun time we had photographing Lisa and Michael’s wedding at Short Hills Hilton! It may have been raining but these guys were all such troopers, and Lisa was so prepared with umbrellas for everyone. I’m so happy it didn’t bother them one bit because their photos are so fun and unique!
Both the Bride and Groom got ready at the Short Hills Hilton before heading to their church ceremony at St. Rose of Lima. Lisa suite was amazing! It’s like I was in a house with lots of room and plenty of window light. It was a dream! She had a few “must have shots” which included the confetti and her bridesmaids first look photo. They all came out so cute! The groomsmen had one request. Peeing on the building. Yes. It’s so funny because they last 2 or 3 weddings the guys had requested this. It must be going around on Pinterest!
Their ceremony was held at St. Rose of Lima and it was beautiful! We had some family photos to do immediately following so once Lisa and Mike exited, the went up to the balcony and waved at everyone. It felt so royal, haha!
Of course no one wants it to rain on their wedding day but Lisa was so laid back about it and came prepared with umbrellas for everyone. I always try to look for a large tree or some kind of covered porch if it’s raining and we lucked out! They were still able to get beautiful natural light portraits outdoors with and without umbrellas! One of the perks of not doing a first look is you don’t have to be quite as concerned about your hair or your dress getting dirty so we of course had lots of fun photographing them!
Wedding Reception at Short Hills Hilton
Every wedding has a favorite part of the day for me. I’d have to say this one would be the reception. There was so much to photograph and I love documenting more than anything so every time I went to rest my camera, something else crazy was happening on the dance floor… it was epic! Everyone just let loose and had such a great time. We knew a handful of people at this wedding having photographed Lisa’s maid of honor’s wedding so naturally we felt like we were at a good friends wedding! I wish we could relive this day over and over again!
