I absolutely love everything about this session! When Michelle inquired about doing documentary photos in their home, I couldn’t have been more excited. Everybody is always looking for the pretty in everything, the perfect family portrait, a gorgeous location… and I love that, too! But everything is good in moderation, right? I feel like this is the kind of session that really pulls on the heart strings as the years go on.
When I arrived to their home, camera in hand, I don’t think I barely said two sentences before I began shooting. It took all about 5 seconds for Lily to warm up to me being there, and as time went on, she was feeding me her toy fruit, sitting in my lap and giving me hugs and kisses! So needless to say, as much as I didn’t intervene with posing, conversing or anything, I somehow still made a new best friend, haha! Lily is so smart, she’s silly, she’s so curious and courageous (I think she tumbled about 17 times while I was there and got right back up and kept moving), and I just found out she’s going to be a big sister! I can’t wait to see what life has in store for this sweet family and I am so honored to photograph them as they grow!
